Position Overview: 

Building on our 58-year legacy and established presence throughout the western US, Forsgren Associates is experiencing steady growth. We are looking for an energetic bridge engineer with 4+ years of experience. This person will be responsible for performing bridge design, working within a design team, and depending on experience, be responsible for project design and management. This position will require a thorough knowledge of bridge design, and professional licensure within Idaho and surrounding states, or an ability to obtain reciprocity. Qualified candidates should be comfortable proactively collaborating with other staff and clients to continue to grow our bridge practice. Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned design tasks including the design of individual structural components, report writing, development of plans, specifications and estimates, and quality control and assurance activities.
• Manage large bridge design projects, depending on experience.
• Take an active role in assisting or leading business development efforts by helping to identify and win new business through networking, proposal preparation, and client presentations.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering minimum with a structural emphasis (M.S. in Structural Engineering preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Idaho and surrounding states (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
• 4+ years of bridge engineering experience
• Experience with state DOT procedures and requirements
• Experience with bridge related structural software (LARSA, Mathcad, MDX, PSBeam, BrR, Bentley Concrete or Steel Bridge modules, etc.)
• Ability to successfully manage client relationships
• For Senior Level applicants; Project management experience including the development of project proposals, scopes, budgets, and successful execution and tracking of engineering projects
• Proven experience in bridge project delivery processes that include conceptual through detailed design, opinions of probable cost, and constructability and quality assurance reviews
• Ability to coordinate across engineering disciplines as required
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and strong interpersonal skills
