Scour Evaluation

Bridge scour is the most common cause of highway bridge failure and is a direct result of water flowing fast around bridge abutments and piers. Our hydrologists and engineers routinely evaluate the susceptibility of bridge supports to scour. They also assess damage and cost to repair supports already damaged. Our experience includes using an innovative two-dimensional model to design scour mitigation as opposed to the typical one-dimensional model that utilizes cross-sectional average flows.
