Mine reclamation is, by its very nature, complex. Comprehensive environmental impact, combined with extensive permitting and safety considerations, generally result in large-scale reclamation projects. Generally driven by CERCLA/SARA and state cleanup laws, these actions result in immeasurable good to the environment; yet financial, political, regulatory, technological, and community relations obstacles abound.
