ESA Compliance

The Endangered Species Act offers challenges to many developers and industries. Forsgren Associates routinely studies such species and their habitat. For example, we designed a cost-effective approach to protecting the desert tortoise at the Mesquite Airport. We developed baseline and impact studies for an alleged rare species that cost a mining client hundreds of thousands of dollars due to legal battles with environmental groups. Our analysis and designs for a highway bridge crossing and bank stabilization ensured compliance and protection for steelhead and salmon. Our biological opinion concluded that endangered snails in the middle Snake River would not be significantly impacted by the discharge of treated effluents from an Idaho client.
